FRANCINE’S REVIEW:

A true benchmark among Aquanaut models, this Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time ref. 5164A-001 combines the emblematic sporty character of the collection with one of the most practical complications for travel: the simultaneous display of two time zones.

Its steel case takes up the famous rounded octagonal shape of the Aquanaut, finely alternating satin-finished and polished surfaces. It is paired with the emblematic black composite strap with its grid pattern, perfectly integrated into the case and fastened with a Patek Philippe deployment clasp.

The embossed black dial retains the instantly recognisable identity of the Aquanaut. The Travel Time function displays local time and home time simultaneously by means of two central hands. Two “Local” and “Home” day/night indicators complete the display, while the date is shown by a hand at 6 o’clock. The two pushers on the left side of the case allow the local time to be quickly adjusted when changing time zones.

Inside, the watch is powered by the Patek Philippe 324 S C FUS automatic calibre, visible through the sapphire case back and featuring the particularly meticulous finishing characteristic of the Geneva Manufacture.

Introduced in 2011, the steel reference 5164A has since been discontinued by Patek Philippe, making this generation a particularly valued piece among Aquanaut models with complications.

This example from 2019, of French origin, is in near-new condition. It is offered as a full set, with its original box and papers.
