In Saint-Tropez, Francine Joaillerie selects pieces from French and Italian houses, each one authenticated before being put on sale: inspection of the stamps and heat embossing, examination of the grain and the saddle stitching, check of the hardware, zip and lining, consistency between the year and the production codes. Every bag is sold with its certificate of authenticity.

The choice of leather changes the look, the care and the price of the same model. Togo, grained and supple, shows little wear and remains the most worn for every day. Epsom, a pressed grain, holds its shape and suits structured Kelly Sellier bags. Clemence, heavier, gives a soft drape. Swift and Box, both smooth, catch the light but reveal the slightest scratch. Exotic leathers form a segment of their own.
Through a set of checks: stamps and heat embossing, regularity of the saddle stitch, quality and weight of the hardware, engravings, alignment of patterns, colour and texture of the lining, consistency of the production codes with the stated period. A single clue is never enough: it is the convergence that decides.
