Fred Samuel founded his house in Paris in 1936 with an idea from elsewhere: he grew up in Argentina, he loved light and the open air, and he wanted jewellery to be worn in the sun. In 1966 came the Force 10 bracelet, directly inspired by the rigging of a sailing boat: a braided steel cable closed by a gold shackle. It is one of the rare jewellery creations to have become a series-made object recognisable from a distance.
| Collection | Distinctive feature |
|---|---|
| Force 10 | Marine cable and gold shackle, interchangeable cable size and colour |
| Pretty Woman | Ruby and diamond rivière, made famous by the 1990 film |
| Chance Infinie | Open loop motif, fine and graphic line |
| Baie des Anges | Coloured stones, a tribute to the Riviera |
Hallmarks and serial number on the shackle, tension and condition of the cable, no broken strands, closing mechanism, gold fineness. A Force 10 cable can be replaced, which makes it possible to refresh an older piece without touching its original shackle.
Yes, the design provides for it. The gold shackle, for its part, carries the identity and the hallmarks of the piece.
The cable comes in several lengths and diameters. The bracelet should stay in place without squeezing, with the shackle remaining on top of the wrist.
