Born on Place Vendôme in 1906 from the marriage of Estelle Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef, the house made its name with poetic, technically brilliant jewellery, inventing the Mystery Set that makes the metal disappear beneath the stones. The Alhambra, launched in 1968, became one of the most recognisable jewels in the world, which sustains constant demand on the pre-owned market.
