A second-hand ring gives access to creations that are no longer offered new: discontinued models, antique stone cuts, period settings. It also makes it possible, for the same budget, to aim for a higher stone quality. Every ring shown here is appraised in Saint-Tropez before being put on sale, and important diamonds come with their gemmological certificate.
| Family | What to look at |
|---|---|
| Diamond solitaires | Carat weight, colour, clarity, cut, GIA or HRD certificate |
| Signed jewellery rings | Maker's mark, serial number, house engraving |
| Coloured stones | Origin, any treatment, saturation and liveliness |
| Wedding bands and rings | Gold fineness, width, comfort on the finger |
The value of a solitaire is read along four axes, the 4Cs. Carat measures weight, not apparent size. Colour, graded from D to Z, distinguishes perfectly colourless stones from slightly tinted ones. Clarity, from FL to I, describes internal inclusions. Cut, often the most overlooked, governs fire and brilliance: a well-proportioned stone visually outshines a heavier stone that is poorly cut.
In most cases, yes. Resizing depends on the setting, on whether there are stones on the band and on the metal. We tell you the possible adjustment margin before purchase.
Every piece is sold with a certificate of authenticity. Important diamonds also have an independent laboratory report when one accompanies the stone.
Our stock turns over quickly and not every piece is published. Describe what you are looking for, house, stone, finger size and budget: we will alert you as soon as a piece matches.
The ring shank, the size engraving and the setting read differently from one house to another. Our selection of pre-owned rings by signature.
