FRANCINE’S OPINION:

In 1996, Blancpain introduced the 2185F, a distinctive flyback chronograph. This timepiece is also available in a non-flyback version, model number 2185. The Flyback 2185F version is distinguished by a military-style dial. This deep black dial is adorned with bold Arabic numerals, evoking the style of military watches from the 1920s and 1930s. The dial features a tiered finish that accentuates the hour ring and sub-dials, creating a striking interplay of contrasts. The date window is ingeniously integrated into the small seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position. The faceted white gold hands are fully luminescent, ensuring optimal visibility in a variety of lighting conditions. This readability is enhanced by an anti-reflective coating applied to both sides of the slightly domed crystal. The central chronograph seconds hand, finished with a red-lacquered tip, adds a touch of color while improving readability.

The watch case embodies the timeless elegance characteristic of the 2185F model. Measuring 38 mm in diameter and 11 mm thick, its dimensions are harmonious. The screw-down crown and chronograph pushers ensure water resistance up to 100 meters, while the side of the case proudly bears a Blancpain engraving.
